Its been a really eventful summer so far and there is much more to come! Last week we went out to BC to visit Darren's family. The time just flew by with all the fun we had. Maria really enjoyed hanging out with her cousins, aunts and uncles. Of course you can't for get Grandma and Grandpa!!
Grandma let her play the piano and that was a big hit. She played a scale with one finger. We may have a musician in our hands. Every morning Maria would wake up and crawl up Auntie Carlene's stairs and have huge smiles once she spied Tyler. Her uncles taught her a few things in sign language, she has picked up more, eat and milk. Darren and I are trying to continue this habit. I have to study up a little more ;).
Maria loved the beach. She crawled in the sand on the waters edge and even ventured a little deeper than I would have thought she would. While we went out on the boat, Maria hung out with Grandma on the beach. She learned to drink from a juice box straw and had a small nap.
The pool was a big hit for her too. She wanted to stay in the water, she bolted for the waters edge every chance she got. She was content sitting on the side splashing her feet in the water.
The food was a huge hit. Uncle Geoff and Auntie Carlene have a wonderful vegetable garden. While we were out there, there was spinach, beets, peas, strawberries, and kale. Maria enjoyed it all! When she ate the beets she did turn a little pink but they washed off nicely.
Maria learned to quack like a duck, and came up with tons of new sound effects.
We were all sad to go but then remembered we will be out there for a weekend in August.
Here are some pictures of the week!
After eating a bunch of sand.
With Grandma
Daddy's friend Kevin, and his little girl, Abigale who is a week younger than Maria.
At Wood's beach. Maria had climbed up on the inner tube with Tyler and Rachel to drink her juice.
I can't remember the name of the garden's but they were really beautiful!
The world looks so much different upside down!
Having a nice swing with Uncle Geoff and some ice cream with Grandpa and Dad.
Duck races!
In the garden helping pick some weeds and sitting nicely amongst the corn. Oh and don't forget the fun wagon ride!
T o end off our vacation we stopped by to see Great Grandpa and Auntie Lorna. Last of all when we got home around 12:20am, a bat followed us into the house and Daddy had to shoo it out. Ask him about his shooing noises ;)
